WHAT WE DO

We believe in collective action. NDLFDA functions as a “backbone organization,” convening partners across the state to create and promote local food systems in North Dakota. We provide a platform for communication to catalyze collaboration within the local food community.

WHY LOCAL FOOD

Local food systems strengthen communities. They build economic, social, and physical well being by keeping food dollars in the community, connecting farmers and consumers, and increasing access to fresh, healthy foods. Farmers and local food businesses gain new marketing opportunities and create jobs. Families have more diverse options and are empowered to make healthier eating choices.
